Be Still

It’s Monday morning and were filling up our days already….school of course, preparing for Easter, Bible study, a birthday, vet visit and keeping our house clean and ready to show. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning…..I really recommend these

These little guys clean everything and you just use water with them.

Another crazy thing about selling your home is decluttering, taking all your personal stuff down and out and really having it like a model home. We had to buy a formal dining table because we just eat in our eat-in kitchen, so thanks to Craigslist we found a bargain and set the table, hey we even found awesome glasses at the dollar store!! Our closets are spotless with white space, our cupboards are cleaned out and decluttered and we are just waiting….there’s my word again WAIT.
God has been teaching me way more than I even imagined about waiting..yesterday at church, He hit it out of the ballpark straight to my heart. The series we are in is called Greater…..meaning God is greater above anything and this week our pastor talked about God being greater than our storms. He used Luke 8:22-25 talking about Jesus calming the storm when he was out with his disciples on The Sea of Galilee. The disciples responded to Jesus when He calmed the raging storm with fear and amazement. Not the fear like when you are terrified but the fear like with awe and respect. Their holy fear was the root of worship. The fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Psalm 111:10
We all have some kind of storm in our lives or maybe you just went through one. At this point we must BE STILL, look for Jesus in our every moments and know He is greater than our storm/circumstance. Still…the definition is not moving, deep silence and calm. Wow! That is so much easier to say than to put to work every day. Sometimes Jesus will calm your storm and other times He doesn’t and asks you just to trust His plan. As a child of God, my hope in the midst of my storm is the promise of eternity in Heaven. This song is by Hillsong and it’s called Still. It is an amazing song and I put the verse below, it comes from psalms and I wish I could provide the audio for you but look it up, you’ll love it!

If you are in the middle of a storm, I pray that you can sink into Jesus, like Psalm 46:1-3 says: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though it’s waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling.
